House of Virgin Mary - Basilica of St John
The House of the Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic and Muslim shrine located on Mt. Koressos. Catholic pilgrims visit the house based on the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken to this stone house by Saint John and lived there until her Assumption (according to Catholic doctrine) (or what would be Dormition (according to Orthodox belief))

on October 21, 2013I don't know how I missed this shot Harsh. Probably because I was on a business trip and couldn't find the time to comment. This is a magnificent shot of the Basilica of St. John in Ephesus. I was there in 2000 and was just amazed at all I saw there. I want to go back again. Thanks for sharing this, and glad it popped up again in the Daily today so that I could enjoy it, re-live my own memories of this amazing place and get a chance to comment.
