Daily Photos 5th year
At the Daily Gallery one picture, preferably taken that day; is shared with others. While that is difficult to follow (shooting everyday) I have been putting up a picture everyday and this is my FIFTH year. It's been an enjoyable three years viewing pictures of other members and learning new techniques and customs from different places. I think this is the best way to travel to places while sitting at home, and also making friends on the way! It has been a pleasure sharing my pictures and I thank all of you for taking the time to comment on my pictures.

Pench National Park
5th year Pic 106 - 13-Feb-2014. Crested Serpent Eagle - Pench National park
The Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela) is a medium-sized bird of prey that is found in forested habitats across tropical Asia. This medium-large, dark brown eagle is stocky, with rounded wings and a short tail. Its short black and white fan-shaped nuchal crest gives it a thick-necked appearance. The bare facial skin and feet are yellow. The underside is spotted with white and yellowish-brown. As its English name suggests, it is a specialist reptile eater which hunts over forests, often close to wet grassland, for snakes and lizards The eagle was at a distance and have had to crop heavily.
