Daily Photos 5th year

At the Daily Gallery one picture, preferably taken that day; is shared with others. While that is difficult to follow (shooting everyday) I have been putting up a picture everyday and this is my FIFTH year. It's been an enjoyable three years viewing pictures of other members and learning new techniques and customs from different places. I think this is the best way to travel to places while sitting at home, and also making friends on the way! It has been a pleasure sharing my pictures and I thank all of you for taking the time to comment on my pictures. Earlier galleries

Hi everyone,

This is Jay, Harsh's son. You'll might have been wondering how come dad has been so silent and not put up any Daily pics for over a week now. He asked me to put up a post informing you'll of his illness.

Unfortunately, on Saturday (10th May) evening, he suffered a massive heart attack and had to be hospitalized immediately.

Fortunately his life was saved by the angioplasty in which they put two stents into an artery but he's still in the ICU.

His lungs and heart were severely compromised and he was on a ventilator for a few days.

There has been progress but he's still got some way to go until recovery so I take the liberty to request you to include him in your prayers and wish for a recovery for him.

Thanks and Regards,
Jay Javeri

  • Harsh Javeri: A Retrospective

Some of our best memories of him involve his ready camera and readier smile. Always on hand to capture a moment in the making, a wonder of nature or an architectural marvel, Harsh Javeri chronicled the world around him, and through that, the world around us. He would’ve turned 70 on 15th October 2019, an occasion he’d have marked with much pomp and splendour. What better way to celebrate the life and times of a man so gifted, so full of life and so impactful on ours, than to pay tribute through a lifetime of his photography.

Harsh Javeri: A Retrospective is a selection of his works over the years. It will be held from October 15th to 20th, 2019 in Mumbai at the Piramal Art Gallery, NCPA.

Do join us anytime in that week to celebrate this occasion.

Warm regards,
Hi Jay - I still miss your Dad so much. He was a wonderful friend, a great photographic mentor and so very kind. I was just looking at some old posts on SmugMug and I thought about how much I miss him. Thank you for keeping this site up. For someone that I never had the pleasure to meet, I still appreciate his teachings. I hope you and the family are well.

Thank you so much for your kind words Linda, and everybody else here who writes in often. He truly touched hearts from all across the globe, including of people he hadn't met. - Jay

I came to this gallery to 'visit' and think about your Dad Jay. My heart is very heavy with sadness to know he is no longer with us. I'm glad you posted this photo of him. Again, our sincerest sympathies. You and all your family are in our thoughts. ~Hillary

To the family -- may precious memories sustain you now. I will miss your father's comments on my photos as well as his images of India.

Too bad the recovery was not possible :(

Thank you for posting this. I was missing from the dailies so I haven't seen this at the time it was posted. Condolences!

    - We'll all miss him very much.
