Daily photos 3rd year

At the Daily Gallery one picture, preferably taken that day; is shared with others. While that is difficult to follow (shooting everyday) I have been putting up a picture everyday and this is my THIRD year. It's been an enjoyable time viewing pictures of other members and learning new techniques and customs from different places. I think this is the best way to travel to places while sitting at home, and also making friends on the way! It has been a pleasure sharing my pictures and I thank all of you for taking the time to comment on my pictures. Earlier galleries: First year - Second year - Critiques welcome!

This was taken at OM Creations, a sheltered workshop for developmentally challenged girls where my daughter Vinati also works. This is her friend and coworker NIkita working on a silk scarf.
Kaleidoscope
Auckland, New Zealand

This was shot with Leica V20 and SOOC.
At the Sky Tower's viewing gallery they had regular binoculars plus a kaleidoscope viewer.
Have a look at the original scene to get a better idea.
http://hershy.smugmug.com/Travel/New-Zealand-Macau-Hong-Kong/Auckland/15037553_4kFyj#1130842647_taVt2-A-LB

Auckland harbour

Shot from 60th floor of Sky Tower. This was shot through the viewing gallery glass and hence some reflections. It was cloudy with occasional showers but luckily the sun came out a bit in the evening and I was lucky to get that with a cloud cover.

Wallaby
Paradise valley springs, New Zealand

A wallaby is any of about thirty species of macropod (Family Macropodidae). It is an informal designation generally used for any macropod that is smaller than a kangaroo or wallaroo that has not been given some other name.

Very small forest-dwelling wallabies are known as pademelons (genus Thylogale) and dorcopsises (genera Dorcopsis and Dorcopsulus). The name wallaby comes from the Eora Aboriginal tribe who were the original inhabitants of the Sydney area. Young wallabies are known as "joeys", like many other marsupials.
Am going out of town for a few days and will not be commenting on pictures till I return. Take care! Cheers!!

Kea Kiss

BEST VIEWED LARGE

The Kea (Nestor notabilis) is a large species of parrot (family Strigopidae) found in forested and alpine regions of the South Island of New Zealand. Measuring around 48 cm (19 in) in length, it is mostly olive-green and has a large narrow curved grey-brown upper beak.
Thoughtful
Paradise valley springs. Rotorua, New Zealand.

We had reached the place after (our) lunch and guess it was just after siesta time!

Paradise Valley Springs is a beautifully presented New Zealand Trout, Bird and Wildlife park, along with a pride of African Lions. Visitors can interact with a variety of wildlife that is found wild around New Zealand. Animals such as Deer, Pigs, Thar and Wallabies may be hand fed. Rainbow and Brown Trout can be spotted in crystal-clear pools and wild in the Ngongotaha Stream that winds through the park. Farm animals include Alpacas, Goats and Sheep to name a few. Also to be seen, waterfowl & native alpine parrots the Kea. Walking on the elevated rain forest treetops walkway, hidden six metres high amongst bush and huge native trees is a great experience
