Hi everyone! I am off tomorrow for a week and won't be able to check the Daily section as am not carrying my notebook with me. Will check them on my return or maybe on Sunday if I get time to access the Net. I have asked my son Jay to add a picture for the days I am gone so look forward to your comments too. Cheers till next week.
Thank you all for your comments. This was shot during a wedding in the family and I noticed this 'decoration' on the side board and shot it 'on-the-run' while shooting a few pictures of a small ceremony.
Chipmunk is the common name for any small squirrel-like rodent species of the genus Tamias in the family Sciuridae.
This is the modified version of my original picture put up here 2 days ago. In that a twig was 'dividing' the Chipmunk's body and Karina and others suggested that it should be removed. Totally agree as the result shows here. Thank you all!
• Cleaning up

Shot this pic at Sassoon docks and tried another one by moving a bit closer but she didn't like it and showed her teeth!

The Sassoon Docks is one of the few docks open to the public in Mumbai, India. It was built by David Sassoon, a Baghdadi Jew. The docks is the main fish loading and trading centre in South Mumbai.
• Coconut vendor, Mumbai.

This was shot in May 2006 when I wanted to get to grips with Nikon D200 and 70-200 f2.8 lens and shot around Chowpatty Beach near my house.

Dave commented on it in the gallery and that prompted me to share it in the dailies.

In India coconut water /milk is a very popular drink. The vendors follow the same procedure described by Dave. Thanks Dave!

This 'busy' photo caught my eye with the No Entry road sign looking as if there is no entry UP ABOVE and the photo of Jesus on the wall behind it. Then I noticed that under the photo were people from three faiths - the sitting Muslim, a Hindu customer and a Christian vendor.

West side of the main island of Langkawi
Langkawi is a popular place for tourists visiting Malaysia. It's not one big island, but consists of a group of around 100 islands. While most are uninhabited, a few have been designated for tourism. Langkawi has become popular with it's lovely beaches, water sports, hotels catering to a wide segment of public. It's a duty free island and alcohol is one of the cheapest in the world!
The African Grey Parrot is popular as a pet or companion parrot, especially the Congo African Grey Parrot, partly because of its ability to imitate speech.
Saw the ViewMaster reels pic of Miles. Nostalgia! My late uncle who taught me photography had a Rollieflex and a Viewmaster. He used to shoot B&W in the Rollie and color slides in the VM. I still have them! My problem is that the photos are losing color, they are more than 20 years old! Anyone here has a suggestion on how I can Scan / copy them? Will appreciate any help! • Family that eats together...
At a Mogya hut.

I am associated with Tiger Watch (an N.G.O) with the main aim to save the Indian Tiger and we work for Ranthambhore National Park. Tourists from all over the world throng to Ranthambhore National Park, Rajasthan to view the wildlife, flora, fauna and the majestic tiger.

But this once famous and safe home for tigers of India is fast losing its status due to poaching. A majority of the poachers belong to the Mogyas, a nomadic tribe belonging to Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh. In 2006-07, our field biologist Dr. Dharmendra traced and located several poachers belonging to the nomadic Mongya tribe. With the help of the local police, some of them have been arrested and court cases are going on.

Apart from bringing them to justice, we are trying to rehabilitate and bring up the living standards of the Mogyas residing around the Park. Our aim is to setup a community centre offering various avenues for alternate and enhanced lifestyle of this tribe and members of other under privileged communities and making them aware of the conservation problem. This is the first time in our country that such a difficult task has been set up and is the first step towards a possible solution.

During my trip to Ranthambhore in February 2007 we visited a place where three Mogya families stay and whose women have started making woven gift articles. We also met up with two ex-poachers.
KentuckyLightchasers - The old ones are mostly used to ferry local people. The new river boats are used for tourists for rides down the river or dinner at nights.
I have a few pictures of a dinner on one of the boats:
