Collared Scops Owls (Otus bakkamoena)
Ranthambhore National Park.
Ranthambhore near Sawaimadhopur is the only dry deciduous tiger habitat in the world. This natural habitat covering an 282 sq. km area is also home to many other animals like sambar & cheetal (deers), langur monkeys, leopards, sloth bears, hares, porcupines, jungle cats, civets and hyenas plus a variety of birds. Entry is restricted to certain hours of the day and in authorised Gypsys (Jeep like cars) only.
[Am off again this evening to Ranthambhore for NGO work and will return on Thursday. My son Jay will try and put up my daily pics till then. Net access is difficult in this remote area so will check dailies on return.]
