Last Sunday around 7.30 pm, I shot these shops near my house.
Shot on Canon IXY 910 IS with ISO around 200 and f3.5 with speeds between 1/8 to 1/20 and one with 1/60 (hand held). No PP except for crop and a bit of light adjustment.
Diwali or Deepavali, a significant festival is celebrated in India, especially by Hindus, Jains & Sikhs. For Hindus & Jains, Diwali also means the end of the Indian calendar year.
Diwali means Festival of Lights, where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over the evil within every human being. People put up Diyas (oil lamps) on the balconies & windows, make elaborate designs on floors (normally near entrances) with coloured powder. Shops are lit up and there is a festive feel all around.
On the new year (Wednesday 29th this year) people visit relatives & friends exchanging wishes for the coming year.
I wish all my friends here a very Happy and peaceful New Year!
