Daily Photos 2nd year

At the Daily Gallery one picture, preferably taken that day; is shared with others. While that is difficult to follow (shooting everyday) I have been putting up a picture everyday and this is my SECOND year. It's been an enjoyable time viewing pictures of other members and learning new techniques and customs from different places. I think this is the best way to travel to places while sitting at home, and also making friends on the way! It has been a pleasure sharing my pictures and I thank all of you for taking the time to comment on my pictures. Earlier galleries: First year - Critiques welcome!

I was surprised to find a comment from a Murray for my pic of 29 June 2010   <br /> <a href="http://hershy.smugmug.com/Photography/Daily-Photos-2009/6972999_iVPCh#918562430_uhWdf">http://hershy.smugmug.com/Photography/Daily-Photos-2009/6972999_iVPCh#918562430_uhWdf</a><br />
which said, "Don't mess up the pages by commenting all old pictures. Follow some discipline"<br />
<br />
I admit that due to work and other pressures I am not able to comment daily but do so every few days when I get the chance. This is the reason I make it a point to visit the daily galleries of the people so I don't miss out on recent entries and usually comment on the last 6-7 entries. I was not aware that one cannot comment on older entries and would like to know if I am going against some discipline /rules.

Colaba Market is situated in South Mumbai very close to Nariman house which was used by the terrorists when they attacked Mumbai two years back. Went there last Sunday with two friends for a photo shoot. The market has small shops and other vendors put up their products on the streets in the mornings & evenings.

==============<br />
It has happened again! I got one more comment from one EyeImage about commenting on 'old' pictures. It seems it's the same person as the words are identical... what's interesting is that the commenting person has used the names of members of Daily community!<br />
<br />
The two comments are: <br />
Eye Image: Don't mess up the pages by commenting all old pictures<br />
Murray: Don't mess up the pages by commenting all old pictures. Follow some discipline<br />
<br />
As mentioned earlier, due to work and other pressures I am not able to comment daily but do so every few days when I get the chance. This is the reason I make it a point to visit the daily galleries of the people and check out the last few entries and comment on the ones I like. I'd rather do this than miss out on good shots. I doubt if this is against some discipline /rules as have found NEW COMMENTS on pictures over a year old... <br />
<br />
Views / suggestions welcome.

This is another shot of the Urli from a different perspective... <br />
<br />
These urlis or basins are made of solid cast bronze using a traditional cire perdue or lost wax method. Indian craftsmen are masters at the extraction and shaping of metals and alloys as evidenced in archaelogical finds from the 2nd-3rd millennia. These bronze urlis are unique to a region in the south of India, in Kerala. Traditionally they were used as cooking vessels which has given them a lovely patina, but they present many alternative uses today, such as sink basins or garden pools.

    Just beautiful! As someone said, rules are made to be broken, if this is even a rule. I always appreciate your comments on one of my older photos and am amazed by how many folk seemed to have missed it the first time around. Sometimes we just need to see things twice (or three times).

    Gorgeous shot! Lots of people comment on old shots and I can see no reason why you should not continue the practice. I always appreciate that you've taken the time to check out my older shots that you had missed earlier.

    Lovely perspective -- nice to capture the bird in the shot too!

    The thing I like about the daily community is that we really have no rules. I can't understand why your commenting on older photos would bother anyone. I've been busy myself and finally have a moment to catch up on everyone, so I'm commenting on older photos too. I hope you realize that your "Murray" guest was not me or anyone I know. Undboutedly a coward who won't use their real name. Feel free to comment when and however you'd like!

    This is gorgeous. Love the light and the perspective.

    Ignore Murray. He/she doesn't seem to be a member as there is no link to their own photos. You have a life which is possible what Murray is missing. Delete the comment and enjoy your time on here is my suggestion. (Getting ready to be hit on my sight by anonymous "guest" and no like names comments now myself)
