Last Sunday (25th October), I went to a Dhobi Ghat with friends Sharookh & Nrupen. As it was evening the activity was minimal but still, we got some shots of the people who stay in these areas. Dhobi Ghat is washers' area in Mumbai. The washers known locally as Dhobis work in open to wash the cloths from Mumbai's homes, hotels and hospitals. There are row upon row of open-air concrete wash pens, each fitted with its own flogging stone. Hershy > Momo Botan (Nelumbo nucifera) (Lotus from Thailand) (179 23rd Oct) Shot at cousin's garden with D300 & 70-200 f2.8 NO PP except light adjustment. Momo Botan is one of the best blooming lotuses. The flowers are double pink and can be between 5 to 6" (although I think the ones I saw were much bigger!) and leaves are about 12" and stand about 2' high.
