Hershy > WATER LILIES
Shot at Ahmedabad while testing a Nikon 105 macro lens.

On 17th April the photo was voted #1 in the Flowers category of Smugmug and was
#42 in the most popular photos gallery the same day. This prompted me to start my dailt gallery and submit one pic a day.
Hershy > Multi-level pool with sea in background at The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh a luxury resort on the Red Sea coast in Hurghadha, Egypt.

The blues are natural and not done up in PS! ;-)

Spread over 48 acres, it's THE place to have a holiday! One can relax in the suite, enjoy the sun, the water... and forget all worries. The warm hospitality and delicious food adds to the experience.

Hershy > Coconut vendor, Mumbai.

This was shot in May 2006 when I wanted to get to grips with Nikon D200 and 70-200 f2.8 lens and shot around Chowpatty Beach near my house.

Dave commented on it in the gallery and that prompted me to share it in the dailies.

In India coconut water /milk is a very popular drink. The vendors follow the same procedure described by Dave. Thanks Dave!

This 'busy' photo caught my eye with the No Entry road sign looking as if there is no entry UP ABOVE and the photo of Jesus on the wall behind it. Then I noticed that under the photo were people from three faiths - the sitting Muslim, a Hindu customer and a Christian vendor.

Hershy > We were at this roof-top restaurant Lighthouse of hotel Promenade belonging to Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, the same group that owns le Dupleix where we we staying. It gets the name from the old lighthouse you can see at the end of the parapet. The place is open only for dinner and since we were staying at their sister concern we got special treatment. The place is nice and the drinks & food great! Perfect for a romantic evening! WHEN the hubby is not taking pictures! :-)

I liked the warm light on the parapet contrasting nicely with the cooler lights on the street. As the light was low rested the camera on the parapet and shot.

Pondicherry, India.
